Just a quick announcement so people know whats going on.

We're changing hosts.  A couple months ago Zath pointed out that for what we utilize on the site, i'm paying about 3x what I needed to.  So we're switching from Flexihostings to A Small Orange.  The wiki, old sites, and main forum won't be changing, but we are pulling the plug on the personal space hosting.  As far as I can tell nobody was using it, so it was just taking up space.  We will attempt to contact everyone who had personal hosting to give them their files.  The new site is pretty much set up, we just need the auth code to change over the domain.

Zath also updated us to the newest version of our forum software and implemented some security changes according to least access doctrine.  We've also changed the titles and stuff to reflect the fact that we don't have a military hierarchy anymore.

Awesomesauce, and thanks for the update; I was beginning to wonder why the load times were getting wonky, but I figured it had to do with updates to the site.

Saving money = good!   

Edit:  Only one thing...does this mean the maps and skins and such that were being hosted somewhere are all going to vanish?  If so, does anyone have them backed up and be willing to throw it up on Rapidshare or something?

I have some PK3s from JK2, as well as the 2005 LoS skin pack.

I miiiight still have some of those, but I'd love to grab 'em just to make sure.  I wanna burn a few CD's of the ones I want to keep for old time's sake.  Never know, maybe we'll have a JK2 or JKA night in 2016 just for giggles, and SOMEONE has to have all the skins!  lmao 

...Not to mention if I ever get board and want to work with someone on a total conversion, I could use them for models to put skins on...ok yeah I'm validating my pack-ratting, so what?...

The community maps and skins are still hosted. The data being dumped is stuff that was in the personal storage folders that you used to be able to request.
