Could you guys help me out a little?  The local rock radio station in DC has arranged a March Madness bracket for local bars.  The restaurant at which I work has somehow been added to the Field of 64, even though we're mostly a restaurant with just a mediocre bar.  Our claim to fame is that we're a subsidiary of an East Coast microbrew company named Dogfish Head Craft Ales (people who watch Discovery Channel might have seen our company on the short-running show, Brew Masters).  The point is, we're somehow running with the big dawgs now, and everyone at work is getting high off the fame.  We've made it to the Elite Eight, and we have a very real shot at the Final Four.

Progression is determined simply by votes on the radio station's website.  What I'd like from y'all are just a few votes for Dogfish Head.  I'm hoping that we get honorable mentions for having votes from IP Addresses in Great Britain, Japan (or wherever BunBun is), and New Zealand; even if we don't win the championship.

Voting is done by clicking on the bracket on http://www.dc101.com/pages/barmadness-2011.html and then selecting the bars you'd like to vote for.  I realize that by asking this community to vote, I'm risking some jerks to vote against us out of spite, but there you have it.  As P. Diddy once said, "Vote or Die, bitches."

You kidding?  I love dogfish head's brews, especially the IPA.

Of course I voted.  I have a Dogfish now and then.  I have a freind that loves them.  Think the only one I've had is actually the lawnmower one.

We made it to the Final Four, votes are open again.  We're flabbergasted.  It's a competition for sports bars and we're a restaurant with a bar section.  It helps that we have our own brand microbrew, but still.  My general manager said today that he doesn't see why we shouldn't just win and lord it over the rest of the area.

You're like 40% ahead of the Pour House.  Looks like you're going to the top! Cheesy

We can hope. Still another 24 hours or so of voting.  It seems like the voting periods get shorter with each round, so we'll have to remind our patrons to vote again.

This.

I think the name brand recognition with Dogfish Head is a huge asset.  Most beer drinkers who ever have ventured out into microbrews even a little will recognize the name, and that can make a big difference in how they vote.  Also, they make really good beer.

So, it's been a year, and we at the restaurant kind of forgot all about this, but apparently we're a shoe-in for the Final Four in this again.  Go figure.  We oughta tell them next year, "Don't let us in the tournament, it's not fair to the other bars."
