Been a while since I've opened Photoshop... but I finally wanted to when searching for a sprite sheet of Ichigo's Bankai from the anime Bleach.  Let's just say I was disappointed.

Anywho, here's what I've got so far for an animation:

If anyone has or is doing sprite animation or editing or what not, feel free to post.

This one wasn't made from scratch, I took an existing sprite and modified a few frames and messed around with frame times etc.  This is actually a sprite from a DS game.  Though I have extensively modified sprites before, I never have made one completely on my own.  Though with a little more time I could probably do so (which is tough because I lack patience).  I started when a few years ago I ran into a forum who's graphics section was buzzing with people ripping sprites and posting sheets of them and people were modifying those and some even made sprites from scratch.

And Omatt... What's the "Poor Poor Mr. Teo" Dunce?

Those are the sprite sheets I used.  Here are a couple of sites that have quite a bit of sprites too:

Hey thats really cool eris. To make a sprite, do you just use like 8bit color or something? I mean I know basically what a sprite is, from classic games and such, but how do you make one?

It's pretty much just opening up whatever paint program you use (Photoshop in my case) and using a 1 point pixel to draw.  There are some templates that you can use or you can start one from scratch.  I usually just use an existing sprite sheet as a template.  It can be very tedious depending on how much detail you want to try and capture (of course detail will have to be sacrificed sometimes considering how small a sprite is).

6 by 6 gives a decent sprite block size if i remember right.  Most of it is the same as animated GIF's, just painting your way.
