I've been doing music for as long as I can remember, and I've decided to go solo musically.  People I've tried to get together with for a band don't seem to grasp some of the concepts I'm going for....So whether that's my issue or theirs, I'm doing it alone.

I only have the music done, and will be adding vocals at some later date, but please check it out and tell me what you think!

I'm also looking for artists to help contribute, if you'd like.  I'll take poems, paintings, drawings, etc.

I'm looking to make it one big collection of art basically.

Thanks.  I plan to add vocals sometime!  Who knows when, though.

Not bad, one word: drummer. I want to say I didn't like the synthesizer overall as well, but I think I know what you were going for, and with a better quality one I think it would more suitable, but in the song it sounded a little too much like a 16bit video game. The guitar work sounded nice, but the song got a little disjointed from start to finish it sounded as if a new song was starting rather than one ending.

My biggest compliant was the drums, they sounded in time, but didn't match up with the music as well as they could have. Fix that and add some good vocals and the song would go from OK to exceptional.

Yeah I'm big into 8-bit sounding stuff, though I didn't use it as heavily in this song as I have in the past.  The only place synth even really stood out as being 8-bit at all was the end bass I thought.

Yeah, and a lot of my songs are very disjointed like that, I guess it's the tech metal in me.  Well, if you meant the sporadic parts.  If you meant the end of the song, I was planning on segueing that into another song, actually.

But you really didn't like the drums?  One of my biggest compliments so far was how well the drums were sequenced.... Hmm.

Thanks for the input just the same, I'll keep all of that in mind.

Besides the guitar, this was all done in Reason 3.0 by the way.

You could tell it wasn't a drummer. giving it a mechanical sound. If that's what you're going for that's fine. Just not something I generally find appealing in songs.

Ah yeah.  That's something I've been battling with since I started using Reason.  I really only wanted the drums at the end to sound electronic-like.  I guess you have a pretty good ear for it though, I fooled a lot of people with the drums through the rest of it, hehe.   Grin

Like it.

I'm a guitar fanatic, but not very good, except for a couple very limited styles.  Self taught for 5 years.. damn didn't realize it had been that long, I need to get practicing more haha.

I'm self taught as well.  I'm a big fan of learning things for yourself.  It gives you more personality.  It's also not as efficient, except for people like me who don't like to be told how to do something.
